Spider Makes it to 50
Aug 18, 2010
This weekend’s matchup between old rivals the Toronto Downtown Dingos and Toronto Rebels will mark the 50th game for Dingos player Everett “Spider” Wells. Joining the Dingos in 2006, Spider made a quick impact, coming second in rookie-of-the-year voting for the club. Since then, Spider’s play and confidence on the field have grown steadily and in 2010 he has taken over as Centre Half-Forward for the Dingos, a key position which often pits him against the best defenders on opposing OAFL clubs.
Spider becomes the 21st Dingo in club history to reach the 50th game plateau and the 15th Canadian. In addition, Spider becomes the third Wells brother to achieve this distinction with the Dingos, joining older brothers Bryan (51 games) and Dave (73 games), the first time three brothers have achieved this feat in the OAFL.
The Toronto Dingos would like to congratulate Spider and we look forward to celebrating your 100th game in a few years.
